Google Drive syncing .mp4 failed because more than one person signed into browser

Post Published:

Google Drive is something I rarely used before recently. I now have Backup and Sync on my computer and from the start there was this long list of .mp4 (videos) from my Google Photos that wouldn’t backup to my computer.

Going to Google Drive, finding those files. none would download, I turned off Adblocker and it changed how it failed. Interesting. So I turned off Stylish too, and then it was still failing, so I looked for an anwer even harder.

I stumbled across a help post on google forums which was way down a page, it was a good clue, but not entirely what was wrong with my Google Drive working, but in a way yes, and no at the same time.

They said to only have one User signed in

I only had one User account in Chrome, in my browser on pages my other gmail account was switchable because my main account I use is one, and my main Youtube TV account is another gmail account. It makes me accept my Youtube TV as the account to use on Youtube/YoutubeTV  and simply that was halting my download-able-ness of videos.

So once I made that ID not be present in any way shape or form in  this browser instance, I could download one of those files. So I quit the browser, restarted my Google Backup and Sync, Voila! It’s downloading those dratted .mp4’s now.

Well, it’s still hiccuping on some of them … but overall, the issue isn’t as vast as it was, so much better now. Maybe once it’s done syncing I’ll be able to download the one’s still left un-sync-able.

Well, I’m so tired right now, I need to just quit typing, post this, and read it again in the morning, fix it or delete it, whatever makes most sense once my sense is reset (sleep.)
