I have decided to change some of my websites, and through that idea THIS blog will change, I am merging details from another blog into this one as well as actual posts. The posts will come in the next week or so, hopefully, as I weed through them and spiffy up categories before importing them. (They are from another WP blog, and I am using WP-Export plugin to export as MT, then import. I am familiar with that model, as that’s what my second blogging system was, MT. It’s a simplistic form to export Post and Comments, and any Sub or Secondary, Tirtiary, etc catigories have to be manually put back in after the fact, only one goes into the Export, so it’s a go-over-every-post thing to decide whether or not the prime category is what I want, or if the post or comment will work on this blog here, links changed, picture links changed to reflect right stuff, and that blog there has old stuff in it still, since moving to another HOST I lost connections with much of my “stuff” other pictures and pages, so I have ALOT of cleaning up to do, pictures to find on my computer too.)<\/p>\n
I have a few elements on my sidebar that have changed already, and will do more. I’ll also change the header, keep the same NAME, just change the header and get some of the sidebar content on to other pages (Pages) and get a horizontal menu there on the bottom of the header. The Blue’s are staying, of course, that’s my color. \ud83d\ude42 See, I have brought my blue smilies over too. I have a small amount of them, just the few I usually use, and have to make more for other smilie code if I want to, if one of those other codes is used, then ugly yellow guys pop out and look bad, worse than they did here before since my custom smilies are 20px by 20px … png’s too, so I have a fix for IE in place that makes sure the lttile smilies are all 20×20.<\/p>\n
My-self now has to rething categories and unmuss them here before importing my posts. I’ve long wished to do that here, now is the time, force is a good motivator. It’s a force of my own though, my very own decision to do anything in the first place. Upheaval is my way of cleaning at home too. :veryshocked:<\/p>\n
My other website is off-line, still there, just the index page is replaces with my “change” message and so WP pages won’t work at all for anyone (admin pages work, just no “everyone” pages.) So if y’all with WP ever want to close things down to others for a bit, just take index.php in your WP root and take out the little header info, and no one can get to your pages at all, they ALL need that little code, you know. (It’s easy enough to just rename the page to take it off-line, or to replace index.php with a new copy from the WP files that you should have on your computer or easily get on your computer from the WP site.)<\/p>\n
I’m not sure what I’m doing with the other site now. I’ll do something with it, just not a blog-blog anymore.
