My Nexus 5 was rooted, custom recovery, of course, kept it from updating traditionally when the August 2015 Security Update was downloaded and ready to install.<\/p>\n

I ended up using ADB to \u00a0FASTBOOT the image to my Nexus 5. The Flash-All Bat file didn’t work, I had to line-by-line fastboot send each part of what was in the IMG file LMY48I –the latest Hammerhead image.<\/p>\n

So I’m not rooted now, but that’s OK. I knew all my photos were in the cloud and all my music is in Google Play Music, I also use Spotify, so that really didn’t matter. Just get the update fully installed, with all the junk removed that I’d collected over the last year or so. \u00a0(If I want to ROOT again, I can pretty easily.)<\/p>\n

A new phone! Yeah, I still like my Nexus 5!<\/p>\n

Do not attempt to update your phone, or root it, or anything … unless you first read and understand what it is you want\/need to do. Research!<\/h3>\n
