Hindsight tells me he has a virus that has been bugging at him for a day or so. He has wanted to eat, but refused to eat much all day yesterday, supper the night before he didn’t want either. He’s also been more prone to cry and act sensitive to his playmates (bro. and sis.), he’s usually not the whiny, crying type — so when he is it’s antenna up for me.

This morning he got out of bed before I did, I was awake though, and he was rummaging around for something to drink. I told him to get water, but he cried and cried, so I got out of bed and tried to help him, but he didn’t want anything I offered.

So I made some eggs for him the way he likes (fried with non-runny yolks) and he sat down and just look at the plate and wouldn’t try to eat, then really started complaining louder about wanting to throw up. I know he hadn’t eaten anything but one bite last night, and he hadn’t had anything to drink yet (I thought) so then he burped and started throwing up right there. Pink-ish water.I was suspicious and then could smell it … not gross … it was just my left-over Black Cherry Soda that I hadn’t finished the night before, he goes into covert modes and takes things that he can find, like that.

His face by then had turned white, there was nothing I could do to stop it, I had no true warning from him, neither did I know he had drank anything at all. I had wanted him to eat something, thought he was maybe not feeling good because he hadn’t been eating. It was the other alternative though. He wasn’t eating much because he didn’t want to, he didn’t feel good.

So I cleaned him up and sent him back to bed. I want him to stay there until lunchtime at the least. He took a catnap but has been awake and complaining he’s hungry and wants food, that he’s starving. I can’t handle feeding him if he’s going to just @&%#$#$ it again.

Enough time hasn’t passed yet for it to have resolved. I haven’t felt great due to allergies, but mid-morning I started feeling differenter … and then realized that it felt like a war, me fighting invading forces. I feel much better just sitting down. For me I describe it as I’m tired and feel chalky-white opaque, fading, see-through-ish, (greyed-out, in computer terms.) 🙁

Viruses that hit the children often only make me feel like that, and I conquer them without having to go to bed full-time or having to stop eating entirely. Since I am feeling this way though, the last thing I want to do is make food for an ill child and then have him make an icky mess because of it, that I have to clean up (DH isn’t here today) and my little one is still asking to eat.

Well here it is: the dilema, or the potential problem:: daughter and I go to the ballet on Sunday afternoon. Will I feel well enough to go, or better yet, will daughter stay healthy enough to go. She seems to love getting sick right when we go somewhere. Historically she throws up in the van on the way to someplace.

So because of all of that I’m saying, it figures, finally something great planned to attend, it worked out, now we might be sick for it.

I have my eye on all the children and am querying them often about how they feel, trying to get a jump on it, IF …

My littlest one got sick this morning.
