I finally have a laptop again. It’s really mobile, the perfect in-between for me between my desktop and Android devices.<\/p>\n

I’m typing on it right now, in Chrome. Easy setup, and using Chrome makes it all the easier to get into all my browser content in a snap.<\/p>\n

I got mine at Costco, they have one model, bundled with the Acer Active Pen, and a 16gb micro-sd card. i5 (6200) 256gb ssd, 8gb mem, and liquid cooling, no fans, and a FHQ display, in just 12 inches, it’s crystal clear high def eye candy.<\/p>\n

This is a neat little device, and I have trust in it to do what I want and not what I don’t want. I don’t want to play high graphically intensive games. I listen to music, watch movies, type out twitter, and blog, and other articles, research, write out recipes, and more.<\/p>\n

So the switch is what’s really nice. Easily lift the monitor off the keyboard. Laptop no longer, now it’s a tablet. The stand that holds it up as a laptop also works to prop up the tablet if you want, so it has three modes, laptop, tablet in display, or handheld tablet.<\/p>\n

The keyboard is one of those lightweight variety, but the keys have movement, are a soft clicky pleasing variety, with a smart lit up keys way of things. If you don’t type for little awhile, the lighting goes off, comes back on the instant you move near the keyboard again. You can turn this feature on and off manually<\/p>\n

It’s a small keyboard, though I have normal to smaller hands, it’s great, I have little trouble typing, though my preferred typing is on a Razer Black Widow keyboard.<\/p>\n

When you disconnect from the keyboard you can have Windows ask you what to do each time, or have it auto switch you to tablet mode.<\/p>\n

For me, I prefer the desktop, but want to get used to the tablet mode for this particular device. There are reasons it’s useful. It’s nice to learn something new when it is useful.<\/p>\n

So good to have a nice small Windows device again. I had a 12″ HP laptop long ago. Windows Vista, monitor could turn around and flatten to tablet mode. It was a hot thing that turn to ruin rather fast. This new Acer Switch Alpha 12 is incredible compare to that, it’s incredible compared to anything else around my house. It might not be super high priced but it hands down beats anything else 2-1 I’ve seen.<\/p>\n
