Today is the 13th day I have had without my Surface Duo 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Two days ago, desperate, I got out the old Galaxy Note 5 (N920p) which no one was using for anything. Was able to get it UNLOCKED yesterday, and put in my AT&T sim, it didn’t work, tried all sorts of things, eventually I got it to let me sent texts, that’s it. No data, but it showed LTE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Searching the net I found a variant ROM that promised a lot, basically it took over and now I have DATA! Yay! But phone calls don’t work at all. Texts and DATA. Better than nothing now. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
If I could actually get phone calls, then this would be an excellent backup device (once I get a DUO 2 again [warranty service]) <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Going to a concert I’d flip the sim into my Note 5. Certain other outdoor things. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But no calls makes it a no way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I’d go to the AT&T store if I didn’t have it ROM’d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I guess one day I’ll flash the stock N920p ROM. Then we’ll see what’s possible. (Not much as far as I have researched. Need specific volte for voice and the phone won’t update PRL etc. Errors out.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
