I hadn’t played Warframe much until this past week (Sun. April 16th 2023) with Cross-Play released (Dec 2, 2022) <\/p>\n\n\n\n
My review after a few days of misery trying to play: Neither Cross-play enabled or disabled works to get into a Relic mission with others succefully 5\/10 times. Sometimes segments and segments of no go longer than that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
OK now for the variety of issues:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I start a mission: nobody joins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I start a mission: 1 OR 2 people join.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Relic missions should be FULL or don’t go until Full. If someone leaves during the mission, force someone else into the mission and put them where the most things have dropped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There’s also the I join a mission and some else is the host, a lone and has their 10, and I’m thrust into it as second player where I am eons away from other player with nothing there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I auto join someone else’s host mission, going, going, look at list of players in mission, with chat box open, then suddenly oh no, 5 players …. within some time I get “connection error” put back to my ship after entire travel session (takes a long time) then a MISSION FAILED screen, an empty results screen, then into my ship with a pop-up message “Connect to prior squad” NO THANK YOU!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Play a mission with others, return trip lags, and they start another mission before I’m even back and I’m flung into it whether I want or not. Relic missions, no I don’t want that, but it happens, and I’m in a relic mission without a relic chosen. Regular mission usually it’s a Nightwave thing, and I already completed what I want, at any rate, leaving the mission gives me a fail, and I hate that as I had no desire to be there nor ability to even pick that mission anyhow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
This all means if I want to play on PUBLIC most of my time is sitting there not playing and accruing more FAILS for nothing of my own fault.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is all more exasperating with Cross-Play on, some of it existed already on occasion, or since PS5 Warframe came out … PS5 loads everything faster than PS4 so, massive downgrade to be on PS4 still.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Add PC players to the mix, I have nothing good to say about PS4 Warframe for these reasons and it’s sad that PS4 Warframe won’t get any new trophies added, just ingame tracking of one that would be on PS5, the ingame “trophies” do pop on PS5 if you have access to one and start up Warframe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I want a PS5 but my hubby won’t let me get one. My Son has one and brings it when he visits, so I know how nice it is to play Warframe on PS5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is Warframe on PS4 then, play Solo. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A lot of misery if you want Prime Stuff. Use Warframe Market to sell Prime Blueprints to get tradable platinum currency for ingame. Buy the stuff you want from others there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Running Relic missions alone means you can’t pick your item, whatever your relic unviels you get. Maybe good maybe not. 4 players together with unlocked relics let you pick the best thing for you. Just farming this to get stuff to sell is good, don’t worry about accumulating the parts you need, just buy what you need from the marketplace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All the issues playing Warframe on PS4 happen for Relic Missions or regular missions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The worst happens when travel just lasts and lasts and lasts and never ends going to mission or after a mission, both result in having to quit the game to get out of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Playing Kuva Lich missions is bad too. I mostly SOLO until the final boss thing which is now PUBLIC on a Railjack mission, fight all your bosses together sequentially. You can do it SOLO but it’s a full tilt Railjack Mission, nicer playing with others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Infinite travel problems there especially.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All of this equals more wasted time than actual play time. Not a good thing at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
