I used my 4 TB SSD nvme from my July 2024 upgrades time. I figured windows and emby could share the duties with me using another PC entirely for most stuff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I plan on getting all of my personal stuff off of the old pc and go through it and merge what needs, delete what need to so I have a centalized copy and then put that part back on my old pc for backup<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I had everything but the motherboard by early afternoon yesterday. Motherboard was being delivered by UPS and they were more than an hour overdue. Frustrating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I started working on it, then gave up for the night, I was beat, the heat of the day, a walk in the yard looking at stuff in the afternoon, with one of my sons, completely shut me down from feeling energy the rest of the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Normal for me. He thinks not normal for someone my age, it’s not age related, it’s my body is sensitive thank you very much for never noticing your entire life of … more than two decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So this AM I got it all going, knew I’d have to re-sit the memory, sure did have too, and had to take one out to boot into BIOS finally. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I had Win to install on the thumb drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I had a battle to get it installed, it was nuts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anyway fine and dandy, it was working.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Just can’t get colors same on all fans, going to have to check the wiring when I feel like messing with it again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Worst stuff comes next.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I was in the kitchen awhile, came back to lock screen, open that and I had same experience as I’ve had on my older 2-in-1 laptop ad nauseum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Something has happened, you can’t use your pin…<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It kept loading that for a few tries, instead of giving me an option to progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then the verify this and that crap and reset your pin …<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I seriously am upset with it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They also said my microsoft password was wrong. WTF<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I wrote it down when I changed it YESTERDAY on a different device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I just installed windows on this device today. I setup a local account. Downloaded a few things, setup junk, restarted. I could log in to windows with my local account, after a bit I logged in with my Microsoft credentials. Setup a pin. Restarted to be sure I could still log in. Worked fine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So hit me with a feather to knock me down. I am still really upset about all the bouncing around password is wrong, pin is corrupted or something. Verify your account with email, or choose something else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Not a single security question in the mix. OMG<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was a nightmare really.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Finally into Win 11 again. I really hope this pc won’t be like my laptop I spoke about above. Really, I would be at my whit’s ends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then later I had a similar thing with Amazon in the browser trying to first time log in there. Circle, verify with a code, no I don’t want to then amazon app on phone has allow or deny thing and I do it there and they say approved, then look at browsers circling like a vulture forever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So round and round it went until suddenly stupid browser amazon suddenly was logged into. It was so stupid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I hate force two factor sign-in stuff. I hate it especially because I don’t have such features turn on. It irks the crap out of me to have it. So faux-two-factor is so “in” now. Ugh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
