All my life I have to guess what people say sometimes because of my Vulcan hearing and their not necessarily as clear as they think they are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Like just now, daughter comes inside from the deck, with one of our cats food dishes. NDkjklsdhng<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Is all I heard with the door opening and shutting and the floor creaking as she said that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I said “I didn’t hear that, please repeat it.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I heard it but I can only guess it was about a cat or the food but I have nothing else to guess, and I know I heard nothing but mumblerly gobbly-gook<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Replaying it in my head is just all those noises together as when I first heard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For some like me we hear everything the same. All of everything. Anyone talking must compete with all the sounds, so no clarity for the words enough will mean I need it repeated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I can hear what people are saying upstairs and understand it as long as it’s not my daughter, who is on and off with how she talks clear, my keys typing my other kid talking to himself looking at his pc and doing something or other. Fans in my server and a harddrive clicking, and the cars going down the street, and the water fountain for the cats. My daughter is very emotion driven and her voice takes on that stuff, I don’t always understand what she says, so now she just can’t deal with it if I ask for a repeat, nope. She won’t. She goes silent around me … and it’s nuts, I thought we had a good relationship overall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Oh well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
