We finally watched TTT Extended yesterday. It was good. The DVD’s played alright. Only one scene SEEMED to freeze, but it was a second and a half, which one, eek, can’t remember, but it went right into the next chapter fine.<\/p>\n
Further viewings will atest to the working of the extended version discs. Hmm, the last TTT theatre discs we got worked twice, then went spastic the 3rd viewing, so it’ll take a few viewings plus more for me to be “satisfied”, so we shall see. I with-hold judgement entirely for now.<\/p>\n
As for the movie, the new scenes and extended scenes were good additions for the most part. I was most seriously displeased with the “Ent Draft” scene (Ch.19 D-1). And the entire handling of the Ent scenes could have been a bit more like the book, to please me, but far be it from me for y’all to think I’m complaining, for it’s grand to see the Ents at all!<\/p>\n
I really liked the edition of the forest outside of Helms Deep, after Gandalf and Eomer come to the battle there.<\/p>\n
