Recovery of anything can be painful. How about something happened to my arm, doing drywall work in the past month, but suddenly not realizing anything was wrong, little things in hindsight make sense, and an acute problem occurred which had me really concerned “What did I do to make my arm so sore …?” and each day after that I kept pushing, the regular big monthly shopping, making dinner when I was exhausted, not getting good sleep, slept on the couch … and bingo, my arm was so messed up, getting there on it’s own, just jump started to the point of seriously OMG status.
So this was Saturday, so in pain, yet my family didn’t know. I told them, it glazed over them … so I had to push on since no one else would.
Sunday morning, oh boy, my arm could barely move, and that wasn’t all, that stinking nerve in my back was singing Soprano Opera, and it was all so painful. I was able to rest, lie down, until one point that day, there was no comfort at all (except in the bath or shower). My old Nemesis (Advil) became my friend again, or was, these past few days.
Monday was just as horrible, in fact more horrible. That night at one point the back singing pain melted away and I could SLEEP pain-free … only to wake up Tuesday morning with a Migraine. So of course I was miserable and no amount of laying down felt good for long, in and out of the shower to cope, Arm useless and head betraying me … I was so glad to finally get the feeling the migraine might leave me if I went to sleep for the night.
My arm was so sore, it was horrible. Just touching it, ouch. Just pressing on the pillow or reaching a bit to get get something was a nightmare. Sitting up from laying down was a nightmare of its own. I could hardly wash my hands, I could use both hands, but my left, which was hurt just couldn’t extend from above elbow …. my poor weak, useless left which I sorely depend on, I am right handed, but very lefty inclined for many things.
Waking up today, no Migraine, later on there have been some pre-migraine signs, but for the most part, none of that nasty Migraine thinking, light sensitivity, etc.
My arm has dramatically improved in the last 24 hours. I can actually move it in directions that it wouldn’t yesterday, and without pain. Certain directions are still a bit sore, but it’s such good news for me to have this working out. I can get into bed and out without hurting. Wow!
I’ve slowed down on the Advil, actually took some this morning early, but nothing since then, a good three hours past the “I usually would want something to tone down the misery of sore throbbing painfulness” but here I am typing on my laptop. I’ve rested nicely today, no misery, right now, just know that I’m not fully healed, but fast tracking towards that.
