I’m recording my LP’s into digital format

Post Published:

My sound card came via UPS today. It’s an Audigy 2 Platinum eX. I have several LP tracks ripped into the computer now. Mr. Mister, Heart, and Bad English. I started with some Tesla, but I’m going to re-do those couple, and do more of the album. I need to clean it, and also know better how to “record” the records into digital.

I am only doing the best tracks from albums first. I got to Bad English though, and did the whole first side, minus one track, only since I don’t like the name of it (heaven is a 4 letter word) but remember the song and it’s memorable and I’ll probably rip it later. So anyhow, there are 6 tracks on the first side of this album, so I did 5 of them.

Mr. Mister, Welcome to the Real World, I like the whole album, or used to at least. I only ripped in “Kyrie” and “Broken Wings” my two favorites from that album. It’d been years since I heard either. Ah … contentment.

I’m enjoying the Bad English album nearly as much though. I’ve looked through my albums for awhile now, without playing most of any of it, and never imagined that I’d be this deep into Bad English’s. So it goes.

The Heart album I have, I just got via eBay, is Little Queen. I like two songs on it particularly, and next want to get Dreamboat Annie, for at least two of my other favorite Heart songs.

So next I’m on to some “cult” … I have two albums.

All my albums are from the 80’s or earlier, of course. I may have mentioned here, or maybe not, in an earlier post, that I quite buying LP’s in about 1990. So I’m back to buying them, only they are all older material, which I prefer anyhow. 🙂
