Problems loading pages in Firefox on this blog

Post Published:

UPDATE: I got rid of the USERONLINE WIDGET from my sidebar, and WHAM! Everything is cozy and good. Weird. I didn’t have it on my sidebar until I changed my theme recently. So it wasn’t JUST that, so something else I did delete or stop using today or start using today, must have helped as well. Co-morbidity, in other words.

I recently started using a new Theme on this blog. I’m still working on it, but have realized that for a long time it hasn’t functioned as I wish, taking too long to load pages … requiring double or triple clicks atimes. This was before and after the theme change.

One thing I did was to delete the Tweet This plugin. That helped, but still it takes double clicks sometimes for pages to load. I have put code into the header for gzip (refuse to use wp-cache for my own reasons) and have often enough gone into phpmyadmin and optimized the tables. Freshly doing that doesn’t change anything.

The reason this bugs me is because I have blogs on other domains and they are all hosted with the same host, and they load fast enough, especially compared to THIS blog, it is driving me nuts.

WP ADMIN loads up fast usually, works well, but then again sometimes not, sometimes a 500 error occurs in WP ADMIN or on my actual blog when trying to load a page.

Anyhow, I opened up IE and voila! It all worked fast. (Uh oh)

I dumped my cache in Firefox. Not much of a change.

Oft time it takes hitting shift+reload to get the page to come in using Firefox.

Since I have some plugins on this blog, some same ones on other blogs, some different, I must test everything to the nth degree, but thus far I’m just plain frustrated, plus more so right now for half my stuff I’m typing isn’t showing up till many seconds later, and it’s making me feel like I’m using Windows VISTA again. ACK!
