www gone

I had my options for this site to use both “www” and not use it to work … so anyone could come here with or without it and get to the right page. In WP I had it set to use the “www.”

It worked mostly all the time, until recently I just can’t get pages to load in WP at times, so I went to my host panel and changed it to not use the www and to convert anyone who comes with it to a non-www url automatically. I then took my “www” references out of my WP admin interface … (was able to get into that interface only without the www this afternoon).

Before the changes I made sure of this, as I have noticed before, when this slowdown or non-loading of pages happened my non-wp pages loaded up quick as lightning as www. urls … and this time, today, I tried my wp-pages without the www. before changing anything, as I said before, and they loaded fast, when they wouldn’t with the www. used. The non-wp pages loaded fast with or without the www. So I made the changes in my host panel after that, and in wp-admin and now everything loads again just fine, no matter how the url is, with or without the www. Automatically the host takes the www. out of the mix … so old links will still come here just fine.

For whatever reason, I’m glad that problem has been solved, as nonsensical as it is, since I have the same hosting plan for other domains that I use the www. for and also use WP. Like I said, “whatever”. 🙄
