Guitar Hero III Medium; GHWT

Post Published:

I wrote here on September 19th about Guitar Hero III on Easy mode, and that I wasn’t too anxious to begin Medium, but eventually I did just that, on Sept 25th precisely. I wasn’t very good at it at first, but did get some better with practice of the solo on Slow Ride, for starters. From there I did move on down the list of songs, and arrived at the bottom more recently, I didn’t even TRY the last set of songs for over a month, I just went back and improved previous songs and worked on some Bonus songs as well, all in Medium, and occasionally delving back into Easy.

So then, more recently I jumped into the last set of songs and got through 3 of them enough to meet Lou … and have tried a few times, but haven’t beat him yet.

I didn’t play again for several days, then did some, and later on in October in Costco I convinced DH to let us buy Guitar Hero World Tour, and he thought it was the Areosmith one, but it was what it was, and so we got a new game and a new guitar. I started a band in that one and have played (Single, Guitar) most of the songs on Easy, and also have tried Medium on a few songs. It acts differently from GH III, that much is for sure. I didn’t know in advance that my band would unlock everything on the first mode playing it, well, at least that’s how it looks thus far. I have played everything in the original game except for one or two $ payable sets. I haven’t gotten good enough with Easy mode to win back much of the money I spent on the other sets that cost in game point money. I’m working through the songs in Easy, and Medium a bit, to improve scores/earn more money, but it’s slow going to recoup that “money”.

I’ve used my new Guitar in GH III to play multiplayer things with the children. The colored keys feel different to me than the Les Paul controller for GH III that I was accustomed to. It feels funny using the new one to play songs in GH III, makes it difficult to play the Medium stuff. The keys feel “thicker” or “taller” in some manner.

I have a guitar hero . com account and find it fun to look at my stats there, haven’t yet gotten up the guts to join any tournaments, or play anyone online. I was very, very disappointed to discover after we brought the game home, a few days after it was initially released, that the website isn’t yet up for GHWT. Urgh! I have that frustrated feeling every time I start GHWT and see the wi-fi thing. I checked a few days ago to see if it was online and it still wasn’t, but just now I checked again and voila! I can link GH WT to my profile.

Songs show up on that under Recent Performances, but nothing under the Solo career area yet. I guess I’ll have to play everything again or it’ll show up next time I “log on” with GHWT. To make it clear, I did connect to wi-fi account each time I started WT, even without having it linked to my account, and info did arrive since I played what it shows a couple of days ago, and I just now linked my WT game to my account online. FWIW.
