Galaxy S3 Tab peed on

Post Published:

Thank you cat. Peed on my tablet which was on my bed. WT???????

I’m getting it replaced, with something more modern at least.

S3 Tab problem solving

I cleaned the magnetic cover with alcohol, really good, let it dry, did it again and again. Sprayed it with BacOut let it sit for 10 minutes, wiped it down, let it dry, sniff test, not great still.

The tablet itself had pee all over it, both sides. Recently I had put an armorsuit matte screen protector on it and loved it all the more since finding a tiny scratch and a bigger small scratch on opposite sides of the screen. (Another cat thanks no doubt.)

A few weeks of that pleasure and now it’s just smelly when it’s on. I can’t take it apart and do anything worthwhile. It’s just toast for using like I use a tablet. It still works, just an aging tablet for viewing media or reading a book if that’s your thing (not my thing to read on a tablet afterall. I hoped I would, but I don’t like it.)

Comparing old with new

My S3 Tab is 9.7″ and 4:3 aspect ratio. I love watching my Star Trek shows on it, and other old shows, ohhhhh boy, so nice.

The one I’m changing to is 16:10 apect ratio, 12.4″, resolution is 1600×2560 it’s not oled. Boo Hoo.

Back in 2017 the S3 was $599 32gb. A premium tablet.

Galaxy S7FE is $579 256gb. It’s way bigger and a better processor than my S3 but not as good as the S7, I really wanted an S7+ for a long while now, but stuck with dealing down just to get something useable. I’m going with S7FE Mystic Pink 256GB It’s so much bigger than my S3. Same size of tablet as S7+ which is good and bad. I just couldn’t even get an S7, more pricey than the highest gb S7FE. And it’s 11″ instead of 12.4″

Tomorrow is supposed to be the delivery of tablet and cover from Samsung directly. I’ll have photos of both old and new devices in a new post.
