Here we are again. A/C is broken. Last week it was really rattling and so noisy, then on Friday (8-4-2023) it quit blowing and screeched.
Technician arrived and poking around found a wheel that drives the fan was broken.
That is a part they didn’t have in-stock and would have to order it from the manufacturer, which was a hit-or-miss in contacting usually, apparently.
It’s not a cheap part. $600. Whoa.
We are in the waiting game.
Hot and miserable most of the time, but yesterday it was COOL all of the sudden because of a storm that blew through and thankfully that cool air never left the area and the cloud cover stayed though weather service said it would clear up and the temperature would rise again before nightfall, but it didn’t. YAY!
I melt with humidity … and no A/C equals higher temps and humidity causing all paper to go limp, as well as me.
My posters fell off my office walls the other day.
Today is Monday (8-7-2023), the A/C company will Order The Part today, supposedly. Please rush it! They said over the weekend it would be 3-4 days to get it, oh please be back this week to fix it please please please!
I only am conscious because of the storm and overnight temps being good. 69 degrees F. at 4:30am.
I can live with this, just would like it a bit drier.
It won’t continue past this morning. Heat will climb in the house and bla bla bla.
We have 4 box fans one in my office window, have to tape it up since windows and fan not matching in size. One in a Livingroom window, which is held in place by the window (only one in the house that does it.) One in a kitchen window, taped in, and one in my daughter’s room, held in place by her bedframe.
I have to turn all the fans around in order to push out once heat ramps up. Turn again to pull air in when it’s cooler outside.
Our house is stupidly made for artificial air exchange only. Even the 4 box fans just work on the one room they are in and there is nothing that can work to facilitate a whole house exchange of air from ouside.
Even outside air is often cooler than inside air. Air is fresh outside, inside it’s stagnant. Cross-breeze windows should be in every house design. F-modern designs reliant on A/C. We have ZERO cross-breeze-able windows. Stupid.
I’d love a Four Square house.
