Camera Phones

Post Published:

I’m getting a new phone this week, which means I’m giving my old phone to my youngest kid (it has fallen on it’s face twice, scratches … he doesn’t care.)

My Samsung Note20 Ultra — I am happily giving up. Its wonderful S-pen I will miss, but the camera I will not.

What new device am I getting? Microsoft Surface Duo 2, yes a strange device. Well not that strange, a hinged 2-screen phone.

Will the camera suffice? I dare say yes. Simplicity is the key here. Samsung 20 series have really upped the camera stuff so much it’s extremely finicky and drives me to madness.

Online reviews of Duo 2 camera say it’s Nothing to Write Home About.

I do say good photographer can be good with any camera. Truth.

Samsung made me a convert to using a phone camera more than my Canon 7D, in my first Galaxy, S6 Edge + and then the Note8 … then came the Note20 and oh no not the same, and not really better, really mostly worse. I still can get great photos, I’m just frustrated a lot with lens lack of focusing or flipping in and out and what is it doing. I know what I’m doing, it just has chaotic softness with focus on objects ….

When I want to just snap some good photo’s I pull out my wifi only S6 Edge+ and it’s a continuing option for me if my Duo 2 doesn’t always fit the bill. Plus my Canon 7D will get more action.
