PS5 is better

Post Published:

My family got me a PS5 as an early Mother’s Day present this last week.

Warframe is the key game that I just had so much trouble playing lately on PS4, and I knew PS5 would be better.

It is so fast to load and exit, actual game startup, mission loading, etc. Zippity Fast.

The connection errors on PS4, booted from mission, return to my ship because Host left, very few relic missions would work, it would take so much time to do anything much on Public.

Turned off crossplay and then hardly anyone available to join. Sluggish and horrid to play when everyone else is so quick (PC, PS5 for instance) I got left in the dirt.

So I joined the PS5 Warframe game.

One kind of bug, well 2 kinds of bugs remain: 1. “NETWORK NOT RESPONDING” crops up a lot. (That one can interfere with a mission update so you lose all that you did. Upgrading your warframe or weapon, relic, resources. GONE.)

2. I start a relic mission, it doesn’t look for people to join, I just sit there on Voting, if I hit square to wait, that doesn’t work, either it starts a 59 second countdown, or a 5 second countdown, nobody ever joins.

Sometime it just outright says I canceled the mission. I can’t explain it except that it happens like this in groups of two or three, then suddenly everything is kosher again.

Complicated dumb errors, not the worst, like on PS4, just all that with all the PS4 connection woes was too much ALL THE TIME.

The PS5 is happily sitting on the tv console under the 65″ Sony TV (tv is mounted on the wall.)

It was super easy to transfer accounts and saved data from my PS4 to the PS5, then once that was done, sign-in via PSN app on my phone. Golden.

PS5 Media Remote is finicky. I had a hard time setting it up firstly. Once that was done, OK used it just fine a few days, then last night, when watching a show on Amazon Prime, I couldn’t pause, nothing would work.

Stuck with retrieving my charging DS5 to replicate needed actions.

I like the PS5 Media Remote. It’s small, ergonomic to hold, and the enter and pause/play buttons are easy to find. There are less buttons on this remote compared to PSN remotes for PS3. PS3 media remote was nearly the same as my Sony TV remote which will navigate on a PS4 (just no PS button.)

So then this morning I was thinking about what I needed to do with the Media Remote. I had the PS5 turned off. Picked up that Media Remote, hit the PS button, holy cow it turned it on, navigation of PS5 interface worked. OK

So when it doesn’t work, shut down PS5 then restart and it’ll work? Is that it?

Which means this Media Remote is a POS in many ways.
