Water was turned off last night

Why?

Hubby said, “oh I forgot to pay the water bill.”

Struggled through the night in misery with no running water.

In the a.m. he said, “No, I paid it in April.” … OK

Son had seen through his window a white pickup and a guy with a shovel and a woman by the water main area.

We got no text, phone call or email telling us it was being turned off.

So then this morning hubby goes to the water headquarters, and tells them, and they said they did NOT turn off our water, and turn offs don’t happen in the later evening anyhow.

Our account is fine. Story goes on below.

Neighbor had a leak between main and her house, so wanted to turn it off. Couldn’t do it so elicited help from another neighbor. This is the explanation of exactly what my son had seen from his bedroom window.

So it ended up water guy shows up this am and has a fit about the trees blocking the area. Giant Leland Cypresses, planted from road to nearly the garage in a row by the first owners of the neighbors house in 1998.

They got saws and cut off so much of the front few trees limbs like 5 feet tall or more.

Trees covering it all. So lady dug out our water turn on/off and got the neighbor with the correct tool to turn it off. Not knowing what was what.

We had a new house lever put in in 2022 so I knew where the water main stuff was, and many years ago I knew as well, but trees covered it all for so long, everyone forgot, until 2022.

So the water guy took off so many branches, it’s very open where the water things are now by the road.

Our community has the same setup between houses. It’s very obvious every two houses …

Solved now. It wasn’t us. It was neighbor improperly accessing the water main and shut ours off all night it was just purely misery.

Glad to have water finally.
