I like my Pixel 7. I just really miss my Duo 2 and can’t wrap my head around not having still.
It’s a waiting game to see if I can get another and one issue is clear that make having the Pixel 7 as my phone, and a Duo for my wi-fi reader, and lots of other stuff thing:
- Phone calls: delay hearing my voice on Duo 2 when I pick up a call.
- Phone calls: immediate hearing my voice on Pixel 7 when I pick up a call..
Camera on Pixel 7 is far above camera on Duo 2. I like it way more than Samsung cameras of the last several years.
In fact Pixel 7 could suffice to be my photo and video machine easily.
I love Duo 2 as a video creation device. 4K video, ability to hold the device or place it down like a 3DS to record, or like a book standing up, stable and a wonderful way to have my cat videoed on the bed. Bend it via the hinges, they go so far and leave this as a unique device that works and may someday be able to run Win 11…Duo 1 is doing a good job of that. I’d try to get one of them if I didn’t have stuff to put on a Duo 2 only (skins and bumpers.)
The balance of Duo 2, holding it partly folded, no way for it to fall. The most Zen balanced device. No need for the buttered toast theory.
I find Pixel 7 is just impossible to use to read much stuff though. Weather app I can’t even zoom in on warnings and such, having the phone settings bigger would help that but holy moly that’s not an answer because everything would be TOO BIG everywhere else. The screen is just so narrow and tall and this is just the Pixel 7. The Pixel 7 Pro would be better for me, but not really, it’s even taller!!!!
Samsung S22 Ultra, that’s for me. Premium, an s-pen but no, too skinny and tall and a nightmare camera probably. No, not for me.
I am ruined for any other device now. Utterly ruined.
I ditched using Note20 Ultra for my Microsoft Duo 2 and never once regretted it. I wouldn’t want to go back to that phone (gave it to my kid) for any reason.
All in all, Duo 2 is at an end life because they never made enough of them and are handing out refunds like candy to a lot of Duo 2 users regular or advance warranties. How can a company do that? In September Microsoft said they were committed to Duo 2 line continuing on, but the minimal stock that hit the marketplace disappeared nearly instantly, not helping the warranty service issue one iota.
I want a valuable device. I am owed that as my warranty replacement service states, but they say they can’t, but maybe can in a few weeks, maybe, so I’m in a holding pattern until more info is available.
