DIY Lip Balm in Old EOS container

EOS Lip Balm Container

I decided I wanted to make my own lip balm and of course having many EOS containers, I figured out how to use them with my own formula.

The bottom portion of the container has 2 parts. I carefully squeezed the sides of the bottom to get a gap to pull up and after a bit of work, it’s easy to take in and put back and take out when you need to, but stay in until then. 🙂

My Recipe for Lip Balm

  • 1 tsp. Organic Olive Oil (First Cold Pressed)
  • 1/2 tsp. Shea Butter
  • 1/2 tsp. Beeswax Pastilles
  • 1/2 tsp. Honey
  • 3 or 4 drops of your favorite Essential Oil/s (I used Wintergreen EO)

In a pan heat water to low simmer. Place a ceramic or metal container into the water, as a double boiler, putting your Oil, Butter, Beeswax, and Honey into that. Allow everything to melt, stir well to mix the ingredients, you may have to really whip the honey into it. I use a little electric milk frother to mix the honey in well.

Add your Essential Oil, stir and then pour into your mold.

Using the EOS container, put the lid upside-down in the bottom to secure it while pouring and cooling. You’ll put the little balm holder part into the lid, then just pour your melted ingredients into the lid, letting the mixture cover the plastic net-like part .

Allow to sit untouched for an hour or two. Take the lid and bottom, putting them together, then once the EOS container is back together properly, just unscrew the cap and voila!

Your own Lip Balm in EOS Container

This lip balm is silky and wonderful. I like it much more than what was in that EOS container originally.

Because of making this myself, I will be more likely to actually use it all the time and use it up. 🙂
