My cat Lottie had been hiding under the living room couch for over 2 days. I finally was able to get her to pay attention to me and she let me pet her a bit. Then that evening she came to me in the office where she is usually with me.

She looked off. She look over anxious more than usual, she laid spayed out, didn’t bathe, didn’t seem to want to eat usually.

When she did eat she’d just lick the food then start holding her tongue and putting her front paw to her mouth … then walk away from the food. When she was on the couch in my office awake she would let me pet her but her purr was different from normal. And then sometimes she’d be far away in a comatose way, and petting her didn’t do anything then later she’d come alive and shake, then settle down again.

This went on for 2 to 3 days and I was at my whits end and she really seemed bad that day. I was talking to 2 of my children about it, I said it seemed neurological, daughter thought she had pain in her mouth maybe. I was afraid she might be dying.

So that evening I was watching something on my monitor and sitting by Lottie on the couch, I pet her and she perked up and came closer to me and that was so nice, she hadn’t done that in many days. She seemed so much more alive the rest of the night, and stayed like that the next day and on.

So in the end, she was sick, probably her sinuses, and it practically flatlined her. I know what that can feel like.

She is seemingly all better now, a nice fluid, thick furred purry cat again.
