Rain. We got over 6 inches from Friday afternoon to this early a.m., so 2 plus days of rain. Thank you God for sending the rain!
We really needed the rain. Things have been getting bad. We are on a 24/7 outdoor water ban. Bad for our newest trees. Really bad.
Rain is good. God rains on the just and the unjust alike, but also may withold rain as judgement, or give too much rain, as judgement. It’s a mixed bag. All in all, He may also give a good rain as a blessing to His people. The unjust get that same rain, so God sends rains on the just and unjust alike.
We have forecasts of scattered rain/thundershowers for the next few days now too. What a turn-around, as the days have be HOT and DRY and even HOTTER than that! Trees have lost leaves, and some have lost their lives. Not ours, ours are just loosing leaves, and a few twigs or branches here and there. But this doesn’t bode well for the future of these trees lives. They need nourishment regularly. They can survive drought conditions, but to be the healthiest, they need weekly watering. They may lose parts of themself if subjected to lengthy drought.
How wonderful a picture this is of our human bodies, and our spiritual conditon too. We need to keep in the WORD and talk to God, Seek His face daily.
We need to feed and water our bodies, with good food and drink.
We can get by with doing things wrong, eating junk, and not communing with God very often. But where is the satisfaction in that? Don’t you feel the pin cushion on your backside in such times? Get with it, Glorify God. That’s what we are here for.
The trees too. They need water so they can wave their limbs, clap their hands unto God, for His Glory.
The WORD is LIVING WATER for our souls.
I thank God for the rain quenching the parched earth, giving life to the trees this weekend. And I thank God for the life giving we received at Church this weekend, with special time spent hearing God’s Word at our Fall conference. The Fifth Commandment. It is life and health to Children. Water, water, everywhere, the best comes from God.
