Summertime?

Post Published:

It’s early Summer, or very late Spring now. Yeah, January 12th (2006)

The whole affair of a mild winter thus far is immensley reaching, and today we are expecting temps up to 72 degrees F. That’s at least 20 degrees above a “normal” January day (without a cold snap in place).

My allergies continue. My eyes are stinging lightly, nose itchy, air waves (my internal up and below) are itchy. I feel sticky and it’s not hot and humid. That only can mean “intense Spring Allergies” really, it’s true for me!

This morning is cool and clear, lovely weather. Currently it’s 50 degrees and climbing. The cool air flooding the house (yes, windows are opened) is needed. Yesterday it wasn’t as warm out as today is predicted to be, and the main floor of the house got to 71 degrees according to one thermometer I have there though. I could feel it, I KNOW when it’s about 70 and climbing, I just don’t feel as well, it’s out of my ‘normal comfort zone’ to move around in those temps. I felt like getting a summer dress on, bare feet. I function best in cool air, and so when the outside temps are higher I need A/C eventually and I can do less than normal …

Along this line it’s notable that since Summer ended it’s been cool enough without the window A/C units we broke down and got this past Summer. Here it is January and I’m wondering if it was wise to take the one out of the kitchen window … I do have the one in the bedroom, if it comes to that I’ll shut the kitchen window and put the blinds down there, and blast the A/C upstairs. I shake my head at this. It’s January, and all the January’s I’ve had in GA have been cool and nice, not A/C times, and often enough no extra heating needed … a mild winter is the norm, with cold snaps. We have the opposite now, warmer and we are getting thunderstorms and rain storms off and on, sometime the night temps get into the high 30’s but usually it’s the 40’s or 50’s for lows. It’s so Spring-like.

I will call it moreso Summer though, since I prefer to feel like I missed the start of the growing season, didn’t get any tomatoes in, but it’s too hot, need A/C to function, but at least my allergies won’t be Pumped Up since it’s Summer.

Unfortunately it’s not. It’s January Spring. I’m looking to see if I have any Claritin left. I didn’t take it all last year, it didn’t help me, but did the year before. So if I have any, it’s worth the time to see if it’ll help!

[I checked, I only have about 2 doses of liquid Claritin, which I had for my eldest … my quick dissolve tabs are not around, I thought I had at least one, but I can’t find it, so I took the liquid. We’ll see if it helps today and tomorrow.]
