• U2’s New Album

I got the new U2 album, No Line on the Horizon, at Target the other day, the 4th of March, 2009. I wanted to get it the day it came out, but didn’t, and because of the time we got home on the 4th and the way I felt the next day and the fact…

  • Wii power – none – then yes!

We had a lot of rain the past few days, and then snow, 5″, yesterday (Sunday, March 1, 2009) and during the snow storm on Sunday the power actually went out a few times, just for a couple of seconds, and a flicker or two here and there. All worked fine with our electronics, they…

  • My Flickr experience until now

I have posted a picture of a feral kitten that is living in our backyard, the last post I made here, plus it’s on my Flickr site. Most of my pictures there have no comments and very few views. I don’t have anybody I know IRL that goes to my Flickr site and I have…

    Feral male kitten

This black male feral kitten lives in our backyard. His mother showed up in 2008 with three kittens (they may have been born under our house.) She doesn’t stay here now, but comes back every so often, two kittens stayed here, and one we just haven’t seen at all, FWIW. They are still feral, but…

  • Astronomy

I got something new last week. A Celestron PowerSeeker 127 EQ telescope. We haven’t done much with it yet, as it’s been Full moon and waning from there, but still too bright, or too overcast to see much. We did see the moon right after rising (Feb. 11th 2009 between 9 & 10pm) just looking…

I’m happy you got a telescope. I have wanted one for a very long time but I’m holding out for a large one. Is the one you have a reflector or a refractive type?

Debbie, it’s a Newtonian reflector type. I haven’t worked with it much since writing about it due to how I’ve been feeling, allergies, pms, and then everyone came down with a virus, and I’m still getting over that one …

I’ve wanted a telescope and just finally decided to dive in with one that wasn’t pricey to at least have SOMETHING since waiting wouldn’t get me anything better. I hadn’t been waiting, per se, not actively. FWIW.

  • These days

It’s been really cold the last couple of mornings. It’s been in the mid-teens upon waking, so it’s good to have enough firewood to really heat up the fireplace all day/evening. It’s what gets me happier to go through these still too dark days, even with sunny clear skies. Daylight is less than 11 hours…

  • Cold Coming

It’s getting cold these next few days here in Georgia. Colder than it has been all Winter/2009. Hubby is in a colder region, WI where it is very cold, very, very cold. It’s dry here, snowy there. I was looking at accuweather just a little bit ago and watched a videocast on the Southeast blog…

  • My Poor Fishies

Apparently while on our trip to MI right after Christmas my fishies both died. The house must’ve gotten too cold is all I can figure, they lived in separate bowls. Oh well. Goodbye Thaddeus and Fish With No Name. 🙁
