• Bird Nest Updates

I was outside “checking nest sites” –bird nests in trees in our backyard. One nest that was in the very back has a Northern Mockingbird sitting (on some eggs, most likely) –it’s a high nest, too high to see into without a huge ladder. The Robin’s Eggs that I posted on June 29th are done…

  • Fixing my own printer – Epson CX4600

I’m not the type to “do a Snoopy dance” i.e. dance around in glee about something as Snoopy the dog of The Peanuts fame. I have a virtual model of that going on though, I’m giddy inside with pleasure. I had troubles with printing on my Epson CX4600 in the last few months, but didn’t…

Where could I purchase a chip reseter to be used wtih an Epson picturemate Delux printing machine?

    2. Maisy Avatar

In my post I said I found one on eBay for the printer I was writing about. That’s the only one I’ve ever gotten.

I have a picture mate and I’ve never tried to reset the cartridge of them. I have used the printing utility that I talk about in the post. Find that to better manage your picture mate printer in the future. I haven’t used it lately, have just determined it’s better to save up a bunch of things to print out all at once and churn out a huge stack of photos to “save ink” or get the “most for my money” FWIW.

BTW, the printer I wrote about in the post I haven’t bothered to print with since getting a HP LaserJet, no more color documents, but then the epson cx4600 wasn’t printing me color documents anymore either. There’s something about an ink fill up for the dumps they make an I abandoned the whole idea of trying to make it work, or buying anymore ink for it.

All lights on my CX4600 a blinking away. That started after I “stopped” a job (to save ink). Epson reference book says “..if all lights blink at once the unit needs service.” On my computer screen the Epson window says that all part have used up their usefulness. Ha! Three years and 3 months is it? Any idea where a new CX4600 can be purchased? Got lots of ink cartridges left, too.

  • The 4th Fireworks 2006

Last night (Fourth of July 2006) we had some ‘fireworks’ at our house. Firecrackers I had gotten last year for my birthday and hoarded most of them until this year (my birthday is two weeks after The 4th), and a package we had gotten from Costco this past week. They had TNT firework bundles, we…

  • Birdies

We have Eastern Bluebird babies in the nestbox again, they are getting near to fledge-stage … their little cute bodies are getting blue little feathers, and the pattern that is on young bluebirds, so very cute. Click here to go to my Bluebird Set on Flickr. I took a walk outside a bit ago, with…

  • Rain

I feel like writing, have things to say, but can’t get them out. So, I’ll just input what happened yesterday, we got RAIN and Lightning and Thunder and Wind gusts of pretty big power, but nothing on the weather websites really shows any of that as true … which makes a point about me being…

  • My Baby Boy – photo 6/17/06

I took this photo on Saturday, June 17, 2006. I was trying to get some photos to make Father’s Day cards, and was truly impressed by this snap. It’s on my Flickr page, which you can find via the Pages “Photos” link on the right of my main blog page, and there are other photos…

  • Cars (2006) – Pixar

We saw the movie “Cars” yesterday. It was a really good family movie, and without a doubt I know I would have seen it if I was an adult or even teen, without children of my own. It was a better movie than I had hoped for too, it really, really flowed well, and made…

  • Hard Floors

I’m still trying to get to this “back in order” for functionality thing since the end of May. One thing I have to give me the “counter” space I need is a table in the kitchen space. I have a smaller one that I want to swap the big one in the kitchen right now,…

My dream house would have a whole-house built-in vacuum system. Have you ever seen one of those? I saw one in a demo house once, and in the kitchen they had a flap in the baseboard with a button beside it that you kick, and the flap opens up and the vacuum starts sucking, and you just sweep your trash into it – no dustpans, no last little tiny line of dust that you can’t sweep up and have to get the dust buster for.

      *sigh*

Maybe someday we’ll really be able to build our own house.

    2. Maisy Avatar

Kelly, Yes I know about those, I used to really want a system installed, but now it doesn’t matter as much to me. I really DO like the Dirt Devil broom, and it’s alright to have to empty it every so often into the garbage too. With it every little little thing goes into the broom holding part, and that is sweet, no matter where in a room I am, to not have to sweep everything to one spot, as a whole house vacuum would need me to do, though I DO think they are worthy systems, indeed, just that I don’t have a way to get one now and really don’t mind the Dirt Devil. I mind MORE the “get it washed” stage of hard floors, and that is something else, so … ๐Ÿ™‚ FWIW it works OK for me now.
