• Three movies on DVD

Last night, with Dh out of town, I watched two movies we’d rented from Blockbuster. Movies that ONLY I would ever watch. Not him, no way. Girl movies? Right? WRONG! So both of them were alright, but fully flawed movies that I cannot recommend at all. I’ll give overviews of them and critique as well.…

  • Will Terror ever be vanquished from the face of the Earth?

  • Gray Day Ends

Today it has been chilly out and in still. I’ve kept space heater upstairs running and so upstairs is kind of nice. But see, I don’t live there in the daytime ๐Ÿ™ So it’ll be fine now that it’s nearly bedtime. In any case, the main floor has been just too chilly. I had a…

  • Rapunzel Milk Chocolate and Cheesey C/A Parables

Today I ate most of my Rapunzel Milk Chocolate bar. I have one piece left of that former 3-ounce bar. [I usually get the Semi-Sweet version, which uses real Rapadura, this one though uses Cristallino, which is refined once… so not as strongly flavoured. I use Rapadura in my kitchen. It’s better than “sugar”. ๐Ÿ™‚…

  • Drudge Oscars Poll

I voted for Finding Neverland. Here are the numbers from when I voted … well, actually, a few minutes after voting. Close enough. That was just a few minutes ago, btw. Look on the drudgereport site, on the right sidebar, while it lasts. (((DRUDGE POLL))) YOUR VOTE FOR NOMINATED BEST PICTURE AVIATOR ====36%====1,781 FINDING NEVERLAND…

      Here’s the
      Final Results link

It’s interesting, but also means absolutely NOTHING, of course ๐Ÿ˜‰

See how much the poll had for Finding Neverland above when I voted? 264 votes then. At the end it had 6,156. That’s a heck of a lot of people voting for it, even if they voted twice, or played games clearing their web cache … to vote again and again and again … which I did not do. I did vote twice ๐Ÿ˜‰ With my two different browsers. So assume that 50% of everyone voted twice, on the whole poll, then throw in a bunch of other statistical possibilities. See …? Who cares ๐Ÿ˜†

  • The Great Hal

Bored on a chilly, wet Saturday afternoon, I took a stroll on the drudgereport page. I looked at a few of the articles listed as important … nah. So I then look down the list of links to column writers. One must know at this point: I go to the drudge site less than five…

  • Spanglish

We saw the movie Spanglish the other night. It was a good story. It did have some “adult stuff” in it, though rated PG-13 … maybe should have been R. In any case, it wasn’t super apparent, what some of the stuff meant — to younger folks maybe. Those not schooled in the “world” that…

  • Mission: Save the World

I didn’t watch the Inauguration Ceremonies on TV yesterday. All I did was see a bit of the poof-poof on Fox & Friends early in the morning, and then again this very morning, the morning after. The article I have below is from backwaterreport.com. Posted yesterday. And it firstly has the right quote. The sort…

Oh, I know! This infuriates me to no end! (Can I call this “righteous indignation”?!? ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) I’m right there with you… Who appointed us as “big brother” of the world??? We’ve often discussed the same things here in our house and I say, too, if they want freedom – let them fight for it just as we did! They’ll certainly appreciate it more…as it’s clearly seen, they aren’t appreciating it from our hands that’s for sure! And, you know, I don’t blame them one bit. “Busibodies” (and worse!) that’s what the USA is now. Bleh!!!

I was the only one in my family to vote for Perutka (oop, might have spelled it wrong). That’s why I didn’t put any supportive “stuff” up on our blog. Anyway, dh and I discussed and discussed before the election and we *had* to vote seperately. ๐Ÿ™ He said he understood the “pragmatist” arguements but still felt he had no choice – ugh! (That’s also why I didn’t join in the discussion on the PW list…this is just one area I couldn’t “submit” in.) So, dh is on the same page as I (and you) and the more evidences that come up I’m trying reeeaaally hard not to say, “I told you so.”, “You’re only getting what you voted for.”, etc., etc.

You really shouldn’t have gotten me started on this… ๐Ÿ˜‰ My parents will be here in a couple of hours and I’m sure they won’t want to listen to me rant! LOL

Tamara, Glad you voted for Peroutka (this is the right spelling, I learned it on purpose so as not to look foolish to all the Bush Supporters in 2004 ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

I’m so sorry your DH didn’t vote the same as you, even though he knew the pragmatic stuff then … On a particular reformed message board there were pragmatists and they didn’t even come as far as your DH, but well then they might not have been honestly talking about what they thought. ๐Ÿ™

It is SOOO hard not to say “I told you so” to others, so I know how THAT feels, but feel deeply for you in the hardship it is in your case, much harder I bet!!!!

I’m sorry ๐Ÿ˜‰ to have gotten you started on this. I suddenly just had words to say. I found that post on backwater report and that coupled with Fox & Friends show stuff I’d heard/seen … I just couldn’t not say anything. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope all goes well in your household with these type of discussions! ๐Ÿ™‚

    3. Tamara (AK) Avatar

That’s perfectly alright! Yes, all is fun in these types of discussions at home. ๐Ÿ™‚ Most of the time we are on the same page and turning at the same time! ๐Ÿ˜‰ This time, we just couldn’t agree. And, he would have been terribly disappointed in me if I voted just to please him. So, all in all, everything was fine. He really sees “our” side…is on “our” side…but… Don’t ask me. He’s fed up and dislikes/distrusts Bush… I couldn’t understand why he couldn’t vote otherwise. [shaking head in bewilderment] Ah well. Really, really has me curious about what will happen at the polls next time. ๐Ÿ˜‰
